Toyota Venza’s aerodynamic shape has been tastefully modified with a new upper and lower grille, fog lamps and rear taillights. The updated styling is complemented by a new 19-inch wheel design and three new exterior colors: Attitude Black, Cypress Pearl, and Cosmic Gray Mica.

The 2013 Venza is available in LE, XLE and Limited grades. The LE and XLE models are available with all powertrain combinations: four-cylinder, V6, front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD); the Toyota Venza Limited is powered by the V6 engine only, in front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive configurations. Value has been enhanced and ordering simplified with the addition of many standard features in all three grades.

The 2013 Toyota Venza offers four-cylinder and V6 models in FWD and AWD versions. Venza’s 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine delivers 181 horsepower at 5,800 rpm and 182 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,200 rpm. The four-cylinder Venza is EPA-rated at 21 MPG city/27 MPG highway for the FWD model and 20/25 for the AWD.

The 3.5-liter V6 produces 268 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 246 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,700 rpm. The V6 FWD model has EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings of 19 MPG city/26 MPG highway and 18/25 for the AWD. Both engines are teamed with a six-speed sequential-shift electronically controlled automatic transmission with intelligence (ECT-i). The six-speed ECT-i provides an engaging driving experience and helps optimize fuel economy. Uphill/downhill shift logic selects the proper gear for driving conditions and helps provide moderate engine braking during downhill driving.

The NISMO 370Z also adds a new Bose® Premium Audio Package with two additional speakers and two subwoofers, premium gun metallic dark-finish 19-inch wheels, and Nissan GT-R style high-rigidity brake hoses and performance brake fluid. The NISMO 370Z does not adopt the new front fascia/rear reflector, Euro-tuned shocks or Midnight Blue exterior color.

As in 2012, the 2013 370Z Coupe and 370Z Coupe Touring will each be available with a standard 332-horsepower 3.7-liter DOHC V6 engine and choice of 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed automatic transmission. The 2013 370Z Roadster and 370Z Roadster Touring will be offered with the same engine but with the 6-speed manual offered only with the Touring model (the 7-speed automatic transmission is available with both).
The Nissan NISMO 370Z, a tuner-Z® enthusiast’s dream, will once again cap off the lineup – offering racing-inspired exterior and interior styling, a specially tuned suspension and unique super-lightweight forged alloy wheels. Its 3.7-liter DOHC V6 engine is matched with an exclusive H-configured exhaust system design, muffler tuning and optimized ECM (Engine Computer Module) control – creating 350 horsepower and 276 lb-ft of torque. Only one transmission is available, a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission with standard SynchroRev Match®, which allows rev-matched heel-toe-like downshifting.

Honda (UK) and MUGEN Euro have revealed the first official photos of the CR-Z MUGEN, the higher-performance hybrid coupe which will make its world debut at Goodwood festival in July. CR-Z hybrid will use a supercharger to deliver over 50% more power and torque from the Honda’s petrol-electric drivetrain.

Early tests with a prototype car based on a standard CR-Z and a mid-tune engine have given 0-60mph times around that of the Civic Type R. After a further 15 per cent increase in power over this ‘stage 1′ engine and with over 50kg reduced from the chassis, overall performance is set to meet MUGEN’s original targets.

The tuned version of the CR-Z hybrid coupe is expected to produce around 200PS, and 181lb.ft of torque, with significantly enhanced performance throughout the rev range. The car retains the Honda IMA electric motor and the original 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine, which has been rebuilt to MUGEN specification with bespoke upgraded and strengthened internal components.

Besides improvements under the bonnet, MUGEN also develop the chassis dynamics, with 5-step adjustable dampers fitted front and rear, an increase in track width and a large reduction in overall weight. Bigger brake discs and 4-pot monobloc callipers help stop the more powerful car, while 17-inch forged alloy MUGEN GP wheels reduce unsprung mass.

Elsewhere, the CR-Z gets some cosmetic enhancements in the form of MUGEN body parts, including front and rear under spoilers, side skirts and a rear wing.

The dynamically-styled Honda NSX Concept gives an indication of the next great performance vehicle from the Acura brand. Making use of lightweight materials and a mid-mounted V-6 engine, the NSX Concept employs several new technologies for Acura, including application of Acura’s innovative new Sport Hybrid SH-AWD® (Super Handling All Wheel Drive™) hybrid system.

Utilizing an unique 2 Electric Motor Drive Unit with a bilateral torque adjustable control system, the all-new hybrid all-wheel-drive system can instantly generate negative or positive torque to the front wheels during cornering. Acura anticipates the new Sport Hybrid SH-AWD® will deliver handling performance unmatched by previous AWD systems. In addition to the handling benefits of the Sport Hybrid SH-AWD® system, a powerful next-generation VTEC® V-6 engine with direct-injection works in concert with a dual clutch transmission with built-in electric motor to create supercar acceleration while offering outstanding efficiency.

While Nissan DeltaWing will not be classified in the 2012 Le Mans 24 Hours, the Company is looking to showcase the pioneering technology that will show one potential direction for the future of motorsport and will feed into the research and development of future technologies, that filter down to Nissan’s road car product range.

A race-prepared 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine, featuring direct petrol injection and a turbocharger, will power Nissan DeltaWing, which is half the weight and has half the aerodynamic drag of a conventional racer.

With innovation at its core, Nissan was a natural partner to be invited into the DeltaWing family by the existing group of core partners – US-domiciled British designer Ben Bowlby, American motorsport entrepreneur Don Panoz, the All-American Racers organization of former US Formula 1 driver Dan Gurney, Duncan Dayton’s two-time championship-winning Highcroft Racing team and Michelin Tyres North America.

The engine, badged DIG-T (Direct Injection Gasoline – Turbocharged), is expected to produce around 300hp, sufficient to give Nissan DeltaWing lap times between LMP1 and LMP2 machines at Le Mans, despite having only half the power of those conventional prototypes. It features the same technology found in Nissan road cars, such as the range-topping Nissan Juke DIG-T.

To help reduce fatal and serious injuries caused by accidents involving vehicles, Nissan Motor has released its latest safety technologies based on the Company’s “Safety Shield” concept. By improving vehicle-equipped cameras which able to detect people, other vehicles, and obstacles around the vehicle, Nissan Safety Innovations help drivers to take avoidance behavior before an accident might occur.

In addition, the Predictive Forward Collision Warning System, which uses millimeter-wave radar to detect the deceleration of the second vehicle in front, alerts the driver in advance of a sudden drop in speed of the vehicle two cars ahead.

1. Acceleration Suppression for Pedal Misapplication
In car parks or other confined areas, in order to help mitigate collisions with obstacles such as walls due to the driver’s misapplication of the accelerator instead of the brake or pressing on the accelerator too hard, Nissan has developed a function to recognize whether the vehicle is on a road or in a car park by using image signal data acquired by the Around View Monitor’s four unit cameras.

When the driver presses the accelerator pedal to the floor, this function allows the vehicle to accelerate if it is on a road, and does not in a parking space. This system is also designed to detect obstacles using sonar, and automatically applies the brake to help avoid or mitigate collisions when the vehicle is in danger of touching or colliding with nearby obstacles.

Using features of Around View Monitor and the sonar system, this technology helps reduce the risk of accidents occurring through misapplication of the accelerator and brake brought about by driver operational mistakes. Nissan aims to commercialize this technology within two years.

2. Multi-Sensing System with Rear Camera
Using the Around View Monitor image processing technology, Nissan developed Multi-Sensing System with Rear Camera, which detects people, other vehicles and road conditions in the rear and sides of the vehicle, to alert drivers of possible collision risks. This system has the following three functions and will be installed in new models from 2012, followed by global distribution.

Blind Spot Warning – If the driver operates the turn signal while not being aware of other vehicles traveling in the driver’s blind spot, a buzzer is sounded simultaneously with an indication lamp flashing on the front pillar to warn the driver of the vehicle.

Lane Departure Warning – The rear camera works to detect the white lines on the road. If the driver does not use the turn signal and starts to drift from their current lane unintentionally, a buzzer is sounded and a signal on the display warns the driver that the car is drifting into another lane.

Moving Object Detection – When the vehicle is placed in reverse, the rear camera’s image processing function works to detect moving objects or people, such as pedestrians, around the vehicle. On detection of a moving object, the driver is warned with a buzzer and display signals. Nissan plans to apply this function to Around View Monitor in the Elgrand, where minor changes are planned for this November.

3. Predictive Forward Collision Warning System
To help prevent pileup accidents resulting from the deceleration of vehicles in front and out of view, a sensor installed in the front of the vehicle analyzes the relative velocity and the vehicular gap existing between the two vehicles in front. When the system determines the need to decelerate, it warns the driver in advance with a buzzer, signal on display, and also by tightening the seat belt.
